As it turns out, not even the Atlantic Ocean can get between two sisters and a game of Mahjong. With one of us in America and the other in Europe, our lives are a whirlwind of time zones and flight schedules (and these days kids). But the moment our planes touch down, the fun begins. Whether we are hiding out in a sleepy coastal village or setting up a game in the middle of a bustling new city, our first order of business is always unpacking our tiles. Mahjong became our bridge, our ritual, and our favorite excuse to pause the world.

It's all in a name. Our global wandering eventually led Anne to live on a little island in Bahrain called Tala - she named her beloved rescue dog Tala as well. When it came to name our brand, it was a no-brainer. In Arabic, Tala translates to little palm, gold, and rhythm.
